10G SFP+ optical transceiver inherits the hot-swappable characteristics of GBIC and also draws on the advantages of SFF miniaturization. Using LC (SC connector is only suitable for single-fiber bidirectional) optical connector, its volume is only 1/2 of GBIC transceiver, which greatly increases the port density of network equipment (more than double the ports can be configured on the same panel Quantity), adapting to the trend of rapid network development.
Unitekfiber Compatible SFP+ transceiver supports up to 10km over OS2 SMF via an LC duplex connector. This transceiver is compliant with SFF-8431, SFF-8432 and IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR/LW, and 10G Fibre Channel 1200-SM-LL-L. Digital diagnostics monitoring is available via a 2-wire serial interface, as specified in SFF-8472. Featuring low power consumption, high speed, this 10G BIDI SFP module is ideal for data center, 10G Ethernet and Fibre Channel etc.
Product Highlights
10G Connectivity for Data Center
10G optical modules are used as carriers for transmission between switches and devices, and are more efficient and safer than transceivers. As a photoelectric conversion device, 10G dual fiber optical module is an extremely important part of optical fiber communication.
Tested in Host Devices for Proven Interoperability
Support all brands of equipment to undergo strict quality control and real machine testing before leaving the warehouse to ensure that each 10G fiber transceiver can be perfectly compatible.
This SFP+ BiDi transceiver module also provides a unique enhanced digital diagnostic monitoring interface(DDMI), which provides real-time monitoring of the transceiver temperature, laser bias current, optical power, received optical power and transceiver supply voltage. The transceiver module complies with SFP+ MSA specifications (SFF-8431, SFF-8432, SFF-8472), 10 Gigabit Ethernet specifications (10GBASE-LR/LW per IEEE 802.3ae ), and 10G Fibre Channel 1200-SM-LL-L. The transceiver is also a Class 1 laser product complies with FDA/CDRH and IEC-60825 standards.
The volume of SFP and SFP+ optical modules is basically the same, and the main difference is the transmission rate. The maximum transmission rate of SFP optical modules is 2.5Gb/s, while that of SFP+ optical modules is 10Gb/s. Due to the different transmission rates, their applications and transmission distances will vary.
Yes. 10G SFP+ optical modules can work when inserted in SFP ports, but the transmission rate is only 1Gbps; however, SFP optical modules cannot be used in SFP+ ports.
Depending on the type of fiber used, the transmission distance is also different. The transmission distance is 300 meters when used with OM1 multi-mode fiber, and the longest distance, when used with OS2 single-mode fiber, is currently 120 kilometers.
Can't. The SFP+/QSFP high-speed cable can be directly inserted into the SFP+/QSFP port of the switch to connect the switches at both ends without using optical modules.
Auto configuration is not supported between 10GE and 1GE rates.
Pulling this through ceilings and in conduit - this is fantastic cable. Flexible doesn't hold shape. Very nice to crimp as well.
Goods arrived in perfect condition and in the time frame allotted.
This transceiver was priced very competitively and worked exactly as intended.
Currently, I am conducting compatibility testing between the transceiver module and my devices, and the UnitekFiber products seem quite impressive. They have started running, and everything is working well. There are no compatibility or performance issues, and the bandwidth and transmission speed have been tested successfully.
