QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density): QSFP-DD fiber transceiver is a compact and high-density form factor that supports 8 lanes of 50 Gbps each, resulting in a total data rate of 400 Gbps.
OSFP (Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable): OSFP network transceiver supports 8 lanes of 50 Gbps each, providing a total data rate of 400 Gbps. OSFP optical transceiver supports are slightly larger than QSFP-DD optical transceiver but offer better thermal performance.
CFP8 (C Form-factor Pluggable): CFP8 optical transceiver supports 16 lanes of 25 Gbps each, resulting in a total data rate of 400 Gbps. CFP8 optical transceiver are backward compatible with existing CFP and CFP2 interfaces, making them suitable for upgrading older network equipment to higher speeds. However, due to their larger size, CFP8 optical transceiver are not as widely adopted as QSFP-DD and OSFP optical transceiver.

The 400G QSFP-DD DR4 optical module complies with IEEE802.3bs and RoHS standards, operates at 0°C to 70°C, and achieves a maximum transmission distance of 2km on single-mode fiber (SMF) using an MPO-12 connector at a central wavelength of 1310nm.
400G QSFP-DD FR4
400G QSFP-DD FR4 is an optical transceiver module designed for 2km optical communication applications and complies with the 100G Lambda MSA standard. The module uses a duplex LC connector and can convert 8-channel 53.125Gb/s electrical signals into 4-channel 106.25Gb/s optical signals and multiplex them into one optical signal for 425Gb/s optical transmission. Similarly, it demultiplexes the 425Gb/s input light into 4-channel signals and converts them into 8-channel output electrical data at the receiving end.
400G QSFP-DD LR8
400G QSFP-DD transceiver module is designed for 10 km optical communication applications, and it is compliant with IEEE 802.3cn for 400GE Ethernet. This module contains 8-lane optical transmitter, 8-lane optical receiver and module management block including 2 wire serial interfaces. The optical signals are multiplexed to a single-mode fiber through an industry standard LC connector.
400G QSFP-DD ER8
400G QSFP-DD ER8 and 400G QSFP-DD LR8 optical modules have the same transmission rate and modulation technology and use duplex LC connectors. It complies with IEEE 802.3cn protocol and QSFP-DD MSA standard and has digital diagnostic function. The only difference is the transmission distance. 400G QSFP-DD ER8 optical module can achieve a maximum transmission link of 40km, so it is more suitable for ultra-long distance data transmission.
