However, this solution is more suitable for short-distance applications, such as point-to-point interconnection between switches in racks or cabinets.

Type 2: For 10G-40G and 25G-100G Network Upgrades
The most direct solution for 10G-40G and 25G-100G network upgrades is to use a 2-core to 8-core fiber connection solution. For example, use an 8-core MTP/MPO-LC fiber patch cord to connect a 40G QSFP+ optical module and four 10G SFP+ optical modules; use an 8-core MTP/MPO-LC fiber patch cord to connect a 100G QSFP28 optical module and four 25G SFP28 optical modules.
