The MTP/MPO loopback is generally used to test the signal return in the system or network system. The MPO/MTP loopback including a fiber optic patch cord, is to process both end of a section of multi cores optical fiber into an MPO/MTP connector, so that a single connector can send and receive in one end, without changing the signal or repeating the signal back to itself, implementing the loop.

The MPO/MTP loopback mainly realizes the optical fiber loopback test. Signals are sent from and back to the communication device to determine if the device is functioning properly. Typically used to check that fiber optic transceivers are functioning as designed. The transceiver has two ports, one is the transmitting port for sending out signals, and the other is the receiving port for receiving signals.
